Wineshop at Home got into the wine business about 10 years ago with the launch of 1-800-Wineshop. Then in 1999, they held a wine harvest party in Napa, allowing customers the opportunity to experience "wine country", first hand.
These parties inspired a new business idea.

Tribble's Take: I think that the direct selling/party plan model was built for wine. This is probably a great opportunity for someone that enjoys wine and likes to share their wine experience with others. On the downside, the 2-6% commision structure on team sales would likely limit the income opportunity to a part time level. Upside: I like wine and I like the fact that wine has gone MLM.
