There’s a ton of hype that is perpetuated across the internet regarding mlm home businesses. I personally think that mlm is a great industry for many people and have participated in several online mlm affiliate programs, myself. If you are considering an mlm home business just keep a few things in mind.
You will have to work. Most people present these types of programs as so simple to do. You just have to get one or two and then a flood of people will be unleashed once you do that. From my own experience that rarely if ever happens. In an mlm home business you have to work. This type of business requires you to do learn many things that you may not have even considered doing before.
You have to communicate with people. If you have a fear of talking or interacting with people this may not be the business for you. This business involves working with others in order to help them develop and in turn grow an income.
If you choose to build your business using the internet then you will have to learn to market. Marketing is not something that you will learn overnight so keep that in mind when considering an mlm home business.
It takes time. These programs don’t build themselves overnight. They usually take up to a year to start seeing anything significant from your efforts. You should go into it expecting to build it over the long term. Don’t be get rich quick

Hi Ty - That was very helpful and prompted me to do some writing about Time. The connection started with a previous artical and was that things like taking the time to classify our prospect lists take time - a little time that will save a lot of time and allow us to leverage time. I think this offering on the downfalls of "getting rich quick" speaks to the need for patience over the long haul. I linked to you again, this time at The Entrepreneur's Table:
