Len Clements: Wrong Works But So Does Right

clements_150.jpgLong time Network Marketing watchdog and industry expert, Len Clements has given me permission to publish articles from his MarketWave Newsletter and web site here at MultiLeveler.

Len also thinks that we have something "pretty cool" going on here and said that he would be placing our banner and link on his site.

I am honored and humbled and wish to thank Len pubilicly for this gesture.

Now enjoy the first of many great articles from Mr. Clements:

MLM doesn't have a very good reputation in this country. It would be a lot easier to fix if it wasn't for one thing— it's deserved. As much as we'd all like to think we're just suffering a guilt by association with a microscopic, but very visible minority of irresponsible, renegade companies and distributors, there isn't just one "bad apple" spoiling the bunch. There's a lot of bad apples in this business.

By "bad" I'm not saying their bad people, or have bad intentions (although some certainly do). They're just bad MLMers. They don't understand the rules, or are, perhaps due to their sincere enthusiasm, simply overzealous in their approach.  But for what ever reason, a lot of people in this business are doing it wrong.

Unfortunately, wrong works.

Telling someone you can make $10,000 within your first 30 days, working in your spare time, is wrong - and works. Claiming your jungle juice will cure practically every disease known to science is wrong - and works. Claiming your online recruiting system will build your downline for you is wrong - and works.

But here's the thing... right works too!

It fact, it works better. Wrong attracts quantity, not quality (folks who buy into "wrong" pitches generally buy into all of them, and don't produce much nor stick around long). Right attracts quality, but not quantity (those who are serious about building a long term business generally are turned off by hype).

Back in the 50s and 60s MLM was a quality focused industry (some may argue it made a mild comeback in the 80s). But surely the last two decades MLM has been all about quantity. Number of reps trumped number of product sales. And in an effort to attract those reps in a ever more competitive, opportunity saturated industry, we had to throw more and more mud against the wall. If not much stuck, we threw it at our competitors.

Although the "good apples" are still the majority, they've been a relatively silent one. Until now. They're starting to realize that network marketing in the U.S., as it's currently trending, cannot survive long term. They know that sooner or later they're going to have to stand up, get out there, and take back this industry.

It's time.

Now leading this effort (along with MarketWave, of course) is John Fogg, author of the mega-selling book "The Greatest Networker in the World", past publisher/editor of Upline Journal, and current founder of GreatestNetworker.com. He's gathered many other like-minded "good apples" and has given them a forum at TransformingMLM.com. Besides tons of great (free) content in the Weblog, you'll also be introduced to John's upcoming new book, which will be the centerpiece to this MLM Revolution. A tool to drain the fool pool. A Weapon of Mass Reconstruction.

At John's invitation I'll also be participating in this project. But please understand, I'm not telling you it's great because I'm involved, I'm involved because I think it's great. If you're one of the Good Apples (and I assume you are since you've subscribed to MarketWave), then I'm sure you'll think it's great, too. Please check it out.

Go to http://TransformingMLM.com/Weblog to view the Weblog, or straight to http://TransformingMLM.com to learn more about the book.

Let's get back to Old School, quality-centric networking, with 21st century technology.

Let's get back to doing it right.

Leonard Wayne Clements was awarded a pre-existing distributor position from USANA Health Sciences near the end of August 2008. This was after Len attempted to defend USANA for the past 18 months against a flood of fraud allegations that hit the company. The company never once defended themselves against the allegations, but Len Clements did it for them. Now USANA gave him a vacated Distributor Position within the company that already has well over 100 distributors in its downline.

Len Clements claims that he was not “awarded” the distributor position, and followed the company’s policies and procedures for a Transfer of Distributorship. However, the policy requires the distributorship be transferred from the previous account owner to the new account owner. Unfortunately for Len, the previous account owner had already left the company and the position was an empty spot that remains within the hierarchy of distributors.

The policies and procedures does not allow the company to give existing distributor positions to their buddies.

Len Clements recently left ZENZA. He was their Vice President of Market Research of Zenza Life Sciences, LLC. The word now is that he also used to be a distributor for the company as well! Does he plan to move his existing downline from Zenza to his new position at USANA? I will be keeping a very close eye on that!

Here are three questions I ask Len:
1) How many people are in your downline on the leg you claim “doesn’t even always max out”?

2) What else did USANA give you?

3) Did you converse with Christine Cunningham personally to buy her USANA Business? Or did you converse with USANA, and USANA gave you that business center after Christine already left?

Here is Len Clement’s response:
QUOTE
term, I’ve explained in detail exactly why I am not going to answer any more of your questions about my acquiring this position. I clearly told you that I know you are not seeking any truths here, you are simply trolling for more fodder that you can spin and distort. Yet, you continue to ask these same questions over and over. So I must ask you…

1. Are you just ignoring my answer?

2. Are you illiterate?

3. Are you just stupid?

Len
UNQUOTE

Why does Len REFUSE to answer 3 simple questions? Seems obvious to me!
