Just fyi, according to Alexa just now, your blog is ranked 174,836 (http://www.alexa.com/search?q=mlmblog.typepad.com) and mine is 179,593 (http://www.alexa.com/search?q=kimklaverblogs.blogspot.com)

No difference in ranking, but we both have higher rankings.

Ty - there's something weird going on with those ranking numbers. Typepad should maybe be able to help? They look weird and all the numbers don't show up.

I JUST started using them for a new company blog I am doing...hehehe.

I should point out that the rankings are only good at the time of posting and anytime after they may change.

P.S. I show transforming at 547,552

Good, but he has a ways to go. I probably helped his ranking a little with my pot stirring yesterday.

It's great to see my little blog back in the rankings, although my ramblings probably don't measure up to the rest of the list.

I tried to understand Alexa's explanation about how they rank sites; it appears that blogs that originate from typepad, blogspot, etc get a little bump in ranking due to Alexa ranking the sub-domain as well ...is this correct?

I am no expert on Alexa, but I believe that the ranking looks at all things under the main domain which would include sub domains.

I don't think there is any difference between typepad, blogger or your own domain.

Alexa looks at all traffic for your domain, i.e. ontheroadwithdave.com/(whatever)

Whereas MLM Blog is mlmblog.typepad.com/(whatever)

I am pretty sure that there is no Alexa bump for having typepad in the URL.

ok cool...I'm no tech guy by any stretch of the imagination, and may not have understood it.

No matter, I'm still happy to be even noticed. My ego and I make such a perfect couple.

The other way to get an idea about ranking is to look directly at traffic from sites that leave their counters open for all to see...
