I just finished reading an article about Xango from the deseretnews.com.
Here is a clip:
That is in large part because Gary Hollister and Aaron Garrity brought the western world's attention to the health-enhancing properties of this Malaysian fruit through the drinks and other products made by their Lehi-based company, XanGo.
Research shows that the pericarp, or rind, of the mangosteen is rich in natural xanthones, which are significant antioxidants. Naming the company after these xanthones and the mangosteen that produces them, Hollister, Garrity and their partners have seen the company grow from 14 employees to 600.
The network-marketing company also boasts 350,000 distributors working in 13 international markets.
The founders achieved all of this by investing their own money and working at a furious pace to set up operations with a credible, experienced German manufacturing partner before imitators got word of the company's potential.

The aritcle, while obviously homer-ish, perhaps inadvertently points out the biggest problem with Xango...you can find Mangoteen products in warehouse and grocery stores.
I think that Xango is a good product, but the fact that you can buy mangosteen from Costco that contains more xanthones than Xango is not good news for the Network Marketing company.
Xango's (or Xango associates) argument in defense of their product?
"We were first to market."
Do you know anyone who owns a Timex computer today?
But it was one of the first personal computers to hit the market.
Timex sold a ton of Sinclair 1000's, but they never really improved on the product. The same will happen to Xango if they do not improve on their product (and add additional products to their line).

Yes you can find Mangosteen in stores ect.. But unless all parts of fuit are used seed leaves ect..benafits are not recieved. there are anti-parasitical anti-bacterial anti-inflamitory properties not found in store brand. So if people want to add mangosteen to thier juice so be it. But i trust Xango's pantent and am not worried in the least. You can eat the whole willow tree but untill you eat the bark your not getting asprin. the same goes for Xango when they got the patent on use they knew what part's of the fruit needed to be used to get anti-viral ect..http://4us.gomangosteen.com/
