Here’s a quick tip in reply to a question from AV.
It seems as though I'm getting a voicemail for around 70% of my lead calls. I have tried to include your ideas in the messages I leave. For example, I'm now saying,
"If we can have a brief conversation, we can find out what you're looking for in a home based business, and see if what I do might be a fit for your life".
I'm not yet seeing any change in the amount of callbacks. Do you have some advice for leaving a more effective voicemail message?
First off…
I believe that's a good message you're leaving. It’s not salesy, it’s not intimidating and it invites the other person to participate and get involved.
You could also leave a message with your compelling Personal Introduction speech (see page 159-163 of my book "How To Sell Network Marketing Without Fear, Anxiety Or Losing Your Friends!"), which has enough advantages and benefits that it’s going to attract the person to return your call.
Don’t Leave a Message!
Another thing you can do is try NOT leaving a message the first time and then call back at a different time later. You might then find them available. You can leave a message if there is no reply the second time.
If you've previously left a message and you still end up with voicemail, you can say something like,
“I’m sorry to have missed you again. If you remember you asked me to get in touch with you because you’re looking at how a home based business might be an opportunity for you to make a change in your life. If I don’t hear from you I’ll assume you’re either no longer interested or that you’ve found something”.
I generally wouldn't call more than 3 or 4 times. By that time, if they haven't got back to you it's a pretty good indication that they're not serious about making a change in their life.
Call at a Convenient Time for Them
Something else to consider. Observe the times you’re making the calls. Make sure you make them at convenient times for THEM, even though they might not be convenient for you.
It’s Not About You!
Finally, remember, if they don’t call back, it's not about you, it's about them. Many times people are full of good intentions when they look for ways to change their present circumstances, and unfortunately, when it comes to the crunch of doing something, they revert back to their old ways.
The main thing is, keep going! There are countless people out there who need what you have to offer. Your job is to find them and see how you can help them.
To your success...
