In the first Network Marketing company I was involved with (rhymes with Amway), we used an approach called "curiosity". The purpose of the curiosity approach was to tell the prospect only enough information to get them to a meeting where a bigwig would make careers, jobs and other business appear so bad that the only available option for them would be to join us.
The problem with the curiosity approach (which is still largely used in Quixtar today) is that we really had no idea whether or not the product and/or business was a real solution for the other person. It was a "cart before horse" marketing, throwing a bunch of mud up on a wall to see if any will stick.
Kim's post talks about how Google offers truly relevant advertising on web sites and blogs. This site is about Network Marketing so there is a very high likelihood that you would see a Network Marketing Google ad.
What can we learn from all of this?
Be Relevant.
As a Network Marketer, you have two things you can lead with...product or business.
If you are always leading with your business opportunity, you are losing business and if you are always leading with your product, you are probably (to a lessor extent) losing business.
Some people simply do not want to be involved with Network Marketing, but they would make wonderful lifelong customers if your product solved a problem for them.

Fine, makes sense. The only thing I have a bit of a problem with is having a blog about proper/authentic network marketing and then have Google AdSense advertise on that blog with ads where half of them are scams/bad opportunities. While I think relevant advertising is great, I think authentic MLM bloggers should think twice about the money they generate through their AdSense as opposed to what they are actually trying to say/establish.
